Basketball has been a main focus in my life ever since I began playing. I started playing much later than a lot of my teammates, as I had joined my first team in the sixth grade. I had originally played soccer and thought that nothing could change my passion. After I had begun to play basketball more often, I realized my passion had changed. I picked up the game quickly as my teammates had already been playing for some time. Every week, I counted down the days until practice. Every day, I was outside shooting, even the days I did have practice. I simply just enjoyed the game and was always excited to play. The sport became everything to me. Throughout middle school, I shot outside every day, especially throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. My hard work paid off and I made the varsity team my freshman year. I feel that with my late start to joining the sport, my motivation and dedication thrives and I still very much value improving my game. To this day, basketball still brings me the same joy it had in the past.
College has always been very important to me in my academic journey. I've always excelled in the classroom and cared about my academic performance. I take advanced classes to challenge myself and those that interest me. I stay on top of my schoolwork and balance it well with playing basketball year-round.
