Taylor Corts '16 Recruiting Profile

I am going to study social sciences or psychology to become a canine officer as well as pursuing a collegiate career in basketball.  I am hoping that I will get financial assistance or even a partial scholarship at least.  Basketball has been in my life since the 5th grade and this upcoming 2015-2016 year I will be a senior.  Currently, I am a part of the Finger Lakes Elite organization which is coached by Ed Collins.  My team is composed of the top players in the Finger Lakes East League of NYS.    We have won the majority of the tournaments we have ever played in. This goes to show what a talented group we are!  We attended the Albany Gym Rats Tournament where I made the All Gym Rats 16U team. In July we will go to Ft Wayne Indiana to play in a college showcase tournament and also to Spooky Nook in June for another showcase.
My 2014-15 high school team Wayne Central compiled an 19-3 record and finished ranked 4th in NYS Section 5 Class A. We also finished the regular season ranked # 17 in New York State. For the first time ever our team won the Finger Lakes East Tilte. I made the FLE 2nd team, honorable mention Fab Five and was named player of the week twice during the year. I finished the year at # 12 or better in Class A2 in Points, PPG, Steals, Asissts and Rebounds out of 113 girls, My team awarded me the Toughest Women Award for playing with injuries most of the year and for my tenacious play. 
Currently, I am training with Alyssa Fenyn of Newark, NY. She holds the school record for points totaling 2,499 points. She played at D1 Virginia Tech setting the record for games played and was 6th in the ACC League for assists to turnover ratio. She has played one year overseas in Slovakia for Ruzumberok.
I consider myself a gym rat because playing basketball is my favorite thing to do. I am a true competitor and I characterize myself as a loyal teammate.  I hate the idea of selfishness but I cherish the idea of leadership and putting the team on your back if needed. I love the game dearly and want to test myself at the collegiate level. With that, I will try to excel in the classroom to pursue an education that is crucial for basketball and my dream career. In my heart I believe that I can play basketball at the next level using my skills on the floor and my athleticism to become a major contributor to a team at the college level. Taylor Corts 2016
