I am a 5’7” guard from North Star Public School located in Cando, ND. My family has always been involved with sports, and I was raised playing softball, hockey, golf, volleyball, and basketball. Besides basketball, I have been on the varsity volleyball team for four years, and won the ND State Class B Championship in 2014. I have also participated in state golf. My strongest passion is basketball and the gym is my second home. I started playing basketball in the 4th grade on the elementary team for three years. During the sixth grade, I played elementary basketball in the fall then was lucky to play on the junior high team in the winter. My seventh grade year was spent mainly on the junior varsity team, but I also was also fortunate enough to earn a varsity jersey. My first start on the varsity was my freshman year. The knowledge and experience that I have gained, not only from basketball but all sports that I have participated in, has given me the understanding of how important a good teammate and leader is.
Playing in two consecutive ND State Class B Girls Basketball Tournaments was the most memorable part of my high school basketball career. I was very privileged to be on a successful team having a record of 91-11 over the last four years. I recently surpassed my 1,000th career point in the 2016-2017 season. Making it to the ND State Class B Girls Basketball Championship was one of my goals as a younger player and was accomplished in 2017. Unfortunately, we lost the championship game, and it was a big setback for me but helped me refocus my goal to rebuild our team as we graduated 3 starting seniors. It is now up to me in the 2017-2018 season to be a good senior leader in order to rebuild our program.
I have earned All-district and All-Region honors as well being named twice to the ND State Class B All-tournament Team. My 4.0 grade point average has helped me be a better and smarter player. I am determined to work hard and excel on the court as well as in the classroom. I have always had an unbelievable work ethic and can always be found in the gym. An ideal setting for me would be at an NAIA, DIII, or DII level college. My goal is to pursue a degree in Exercise Science/Kinesiology and continue into the Chiropractic field. I would prefer to find a team where I can make an immediate impact and am looking for a school that would be a perfect fit for me athletically as well as academically.
