I am Ariel Johnson I am talented and hard-working on the basketball court and also as a student with a 3.4 GPA. Honor student at McAuley High School and actively involved in 5 different clubs. I am also open to new and different things. I joined the basketball team my freshman and sophomore year I did not get the chance to play as much minutes as the other people on my team. This took a big blow to my self-confidence, when it came to basketball. I began to feel like maybe I wasn’t good enough to play or maybe I should just quit. Going into my junior year I did not know what to expect. My school was getting a new coach, I did not know what to expect. This coach pushed me to be a better player, and to believe in myself again. I started that year riding the bench and not playing at all. But by the end of the year I became the sixth player on my team. I was the player they looked to go in the game and play like a starter fresh off the bench. Over the summer I worked on my game and self-motivated myself to become the player I knew I could be. I am extremely proud to say that this year my senior year I am a starter and I do not take my position as a starter lightly. I work hard every day to improve myself and my teammate. And when a teammate or even my self is having a bad day I make sure they don’t get down on their selves. I believe that this makes me stand out from other players.
