I have loved basketball ever since I was a kid. It helps that my parents are very supportive and got me started at a young age. My family is actually my biggest fans. I come from a large and supportive family. No matter where my games are, someone in my family is there to cheer me on. My teammates joke around with me about it because at times, our entire fan crowd is made up of basically just my family. It used to embarrass me because nobody else on my team had that many family members there, but as I grew older I realized just how amazing it is and how truly lucky I am to have such a huge support system. My uncle was and is still my biggest influence for the sport. He played when he was younger and had very many offers, sadly he had a major injury to his knee and was no longer able to play. However, he continues to help me and push me to the best I can be.
As I grew up I learned that I am the type of player who makes the extra pass, or who gives the scorer the nice assist. Yes, I will also score, but if someone has a better chance than I do at that particular time, I will let them take it, rather than forcing it up. I am not a selfish player. You see so many girls who want to be the "star of the team". The way I see it is, we are all a team, we all have our strengths, and we all have our weaknesses and we need to all work together if we want to go far. I am very competitive and always push myself. I give everything 110%, whether it be school or basketball...I like to come out on top.
