It is hard to believe that I am starting my senior basketball season. I am uncommitted and looking forward to deciding on where to continue with both my athletic and academic future.
I have been playing basketball since the age of 5. Ever since I was a little girl, playing at the collegiate level was always a big goal of mine. I have great shooting skills, along with shutting down opponents of mine on the other side of the ball. I am a team player and whilst I try to get my own shots, I lookout for the opportunities of my teammates to get some points if it's the better play. In the off season, I have worked hard on gaining foot speed and improving my agility. Hard work in the gym and on my own time with my trainers is something that I practice and hope as a leader / team captain; other teammates will copy.
I am also dedicated to my studies. I work hard in school and currently have a 3.6 grade point average while also being a member the Hope Squad. The Hope Squad is a group of students nominated by peers to help students that are having struggles with mental health. I recently started to volunteer with Columbus Cake Volunteers. This is a group that bakes birthday cakes for kids and nursing home residents in Columbus, Ohio who may not get one otherwise. I really like to bake and create things so this is a great way for me to give back.
It is important for me to be a leader both on and off of the court!
