Personal Statement

Playing college basketball is my dream, and I want to play at the highest level I feel I am capable of, but I am open to all levels. I am a good candidate because I work super hard, I have great stamina, I give full effort everyday in school and basketball, and I have skills that I believe would be useful. I am a very competitive person and I do love to win, but I know winning is not everything when it comes to basketball. I'm a team player and as a point guard, I share the ball and being a leader is a top priority for me. I try to do what is necessary for my team at all times. I am kind and I love to make new friends. I'm always there for my teammates, coaches, friends, and family to see if I can do anything for them. I'm different because I get in the gym more than anyone I know, and I'm always finding way to improve my game. I try to get in the gym early before games so I can warm-up and be the best I can be for my team. I try to exercise every day and not by just playing basketball. I do activities like weightlifting, speed and agility, ab workouts, etc. I'm also different in academics because I work hard in school too, not just basketball. I strive to get A's and maintain a really good GPA. I take challenging courses because I know it will help me improve in my academic skills. I don't know exactly what I want to do for a field of study yet, however, I'm interested in Education, and I'm especially interested in Veterinary Sciences. Although basketball is my first love, I'm also very interested and find joy in music. I play the violin and piano. I am in the top orchestra at my school which qualified for state this year (2022).  I've worked really hard to get where I am today, but I want to go farther no matter how hard I am pushed by myself or others in basketball and school.
