Ever since I can remember, everything in my family has been a competition. This instilled a will to win in me at a young age. I found a way to turn virtually anything into a race or game, whether it was being the first to raise my hand in the classroom, or even putting my seatbelt on the fastest in the family car. So when I began playing sports, I was more than ready. I started playing basketball in the third grade in our local YMCA league. After tallying a 50 point game, I knew I was hooked. Since, I have spent tireless hours working, drilling, and studying every aspect of the game to give myself any possible advantage against the competition. I have learned to push myself past the point of exhaustion, and that my body can go much further than mind ever thought. I have learned that I am determined, and will accomplish anything set before me.
I also have a passion for music, in which I am self taught in guitar and piano. My goals for my senior year of high school are to receive a 4.0 in both semesters and to be ranked in the top ten in my class. In college I want to be a first generation college graduate and I want to attain a GPA of a 3.5 or higher. As a woman, I have faced a lot of adversity, especially pertaining to getting recognition among the boys. I want to change the way females are viewed in sports and I want to be taken seriously. There have been many people in my life that have told me that my dreams are unrealistic and that I cannot achieve them. These statements have been nothing but motivation for me to better myself as an athlete and a person. I believe that my work ethic, scoring ability, and athleticism will make a positive impact on your team.
