My name is Aaliyah powless, and I will graduate high school in 2019. So far in high school I have seen many improvements and achievements since my middle school years and even my freshman year! Once we lost a lot of seniors I knew I had to step up my game and build my confidence. This year I have seen myself develop a more mature and open-minded game. I always look to improve on my own time, and at practice I work my hardest and push myself.
In college, I hope to major in a pre-medical field and eventually find the specific job that I fit in. I also would love to coach a basketball team of my own. Coaches are very important, and to help an athlete develop and improve is a great feeling and it's inspiring.
As I develop into an upperclassman I always make sure that the incoming players feel welcome and a part of the team. I want to let them know that character is more important than skill, and to be a student first. Thank you NCSA for this opportunity, and I hope to find a program in college right for me.
