Personal Statement

I've been playing team sports since I was 5 years old, beginning with soccer and basketball. I added running (track in middle school and high school as well as cross-country in high school).  My distance running and track events (800 meter and 4 x 4 relay) have greatly enhanced my conditioning and preparation for basketball each season.  I bring a consistent and aggressive work ethic to basketball.  I'm really intentional about maintaining a positive attitude and encourage my teammates as their captain and peer.  I like to collaborate with players of varying personalities and skill sets, while challenging myself to develop my own skills each season (and during the off-season).

In the classroom, I hold myself to high standards and currently maintain a 3.8 GPA.  Communicating with my teachers and coaches is a priority to me.  If I have to miss class due to an athletic competition, I'm pro-active about requesting homework and deadlines ahead of time.  Positive relationships with my family, friends and teammates are very important as well.  I genuinely care about them and want to leave them better than I found them.  I really try to live by a statement that I wrote down for a class assignment "Live life to the fullest, even when things get the toughest".

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
