Basketball has taught me to win well, lose well, to be a better teammate, and an even better student. I can contribute all of this to any college team. I am very coachable and would love to learn so much more on and off the court.
Defense is definitely a strong aspect of my game where I make it very difficult for anyone to score in the paint against me. I also work hard at being athletic defensively anywhere on the court, guard or post. Offensively, I work very hard at seeing and opening the floor, while giving my teammates better opportunities. I have always excelled at attacking the hoop and being strong down low. Mid-range jumpers are also an important part to my offense.
Being able to bring energy, laughter, and smiles is definitely something I love to do when it comes to basketball. I'm a loud and encouraging teammate and player on the court or on the bench. I want people, players, and coaches around me to feel as excited and energetic as I do playing or even just watching basektball. I definitely can bring that to any college basketball program out there. I look forward to my future in basketball and becoming an all-around valuable student athlete.
Sincerely,
Sydney Newby
