Olive Whitney '26 Recruiting Profile

My name is Olive Whitney and I am a high school junior hoping to continue my academic and athletic career in college. My competitive nature and inability to sit still growing up motivated me to play sports, and basketball has always been my favorite. Since I was little I have been looking forward to playing for my high school team, and now that I'm there, my next aspiration is to continue playing the sport that I love in college. Throughout my high school career, I hope to improve on my game IQ and play-making abilities. I also will push myself to play at a very high level of competition while being a strong and reliable teammate. My primary position is shooting guard because of my consistent catch and shoot three-pointers and my ability to create shots for myself off the dribble. I can also play power forward because of my length and physicality driving to the hoop. I am a strong guard and I am a good defender in transition against positions 1-5. I am always looking for feedback and ways that I can improve which makes me a very coachable player. In school, I am a High Honor Roll student and I focus very heavily on my academics. I don't know yet what I would like to study in college, but I am gaining interest in careers involving math.
