McKenna Valone '24 Recruiting Profile

I am a fierce physical defender with strong ball-handling skills and a high basketball I.Q.  I am a team player, very coachable, and I assist in helping my teammates to succeed.  Defensively, my coach consistently trusts me to shut down our opponent's best player, and I execute those challenges for my team.  Although I am able to excel in other sports, I choose to work hard year-round on my basketball skills.  I have competed on AAU teams since I was in the fourth grade.  I am currently a starter for the Erie Irish, an AAU National USJN Blue Star Travel League.

I am also academically dedicated to my studies.  I currently have a QPA of 5.0, and earned a 4.0 last quarter.  I take AP classes and was selected to participate in a dual enrollment program through Gannon University, as well as inducted into the National Honor Society.

I have been playing basketball since I was six years old.  My love of basketball has motivated me to strive to play at the collegiate level.  I want to attend a college where I can push myself in the classroom and on the basketball court.  I am ready for the challenge and excited to see what my future holds.
