Cecilia Chong '21 Recruiting Profile

Faith, Family and Education is the greatest motivation for me. Attaining the highest level of education is one of my goals. My parents are the biggest driving force in my life.  Our family migrated from a tiny Island in the Pacific to a foreign country so that my brothers and I can have the best education. Leaving behind families and friends was tough. It was our faith in God that saw us through the challenging times. I'm amazed at what He has done in our lives as a family and in my life personally. He brought new people into our lives so they can be family for us here.

Playing basketball and tennis taught me many things about life. Teamwork, perseverance, hardwork, dedication and commitment. Balancing sports and school work is challenging especially when the pressure is coming from my parents, teachers and coaches to perform well. I continue to remind myself, the reason I'm here and my goal. Seeing my brother being awarded a football scholarship has inspired me to achieve the same thing or even better. Playing sports has given me many opportunities and I'm grateful that God allowed it in my life.
