I am a 2019, 5’11” center from Fredericksburg, Texas. I started playing basketball on the first day of my freshman year and have worked countless hours on and off of the court to achieve my goals, ultimately leading to playing at the college level. Though some may look at my inexperience as a negative, I believe it reveals and highlights my work ethic. If I had to describe myself in two words, those words would be tenacious and resilient. At the beginning of the season of my sophomore year, I had to battle through and overcome a shoulder surgery. Some may say that it set me back significantly, but I am grateful for the opportunity it gave me to learn the game from a different perspective and challenge my mental toughness, as well. As soon it was safe for me to do so, I got in the gym, pushed myself harder each and every day to make up for the time I had lost, and never stopped even when I reached the level of my teammates. I live by the motto, “Temporary inconvenience; Permanent improvement.” I make it a goal to get better everyday in every aspect of my life. I pride myself on being the first in the gym and being the last out every single day, while giving every bit of effort I possibly can, every second in between. I would consider the strongest aspects of my game to be bringing defensive hustle, enthusiasm and communication, and a willingness to go all in, all of the time. I know that playing hard defense, rebounding, and communicating on and off of the court will assist me greatly in obtaining the level I aspire to have.
I would consider it a huge accomplishment for me to make it into a Division Two program, but I am very willing to be a part of a Division Three program also. It is my number one goal to make an impact on the people around me regardless of the level university, while adding to my education.
I have high standards for myself to work hard not only in the athletic aspect of my life, but in the academic aspect, too. I’m a diligent student and plan on majoring in a science such as biology or chemistry, but have not narrowed it down entirely yet. I’d also rather stay in a southern state, but am open to attending college in another area of the country, given the right circumstance.
