Ariel Mendoza '19 Recruiting Profile

Hi, I am a 5’8 power forward and center from Mathis, Texas. I have played varsity basketball all four years of high school. I enrolled academic honorable mention my sophomore and junior of high school.

Now allow me to tell you a little bit more about myself. Ever since the 2^nd grade basketball has become one of my favorite aspects of life. The squeak of the court, the swish of the net, the smack of a block, and the shared laughter among the teammates, all of these are memories that last forever. I’m not an incredible player, but that has never made a difference. I was easily the worst player on my team back then but yet it never changed how much I loved the sport. Endless hours, which were well spent into my practice with the school team or select team, with friends or just by myself, I would always use my spare time to practice or play. Even though I played power forward and center these past three years of high school, I have also been practicing on shooting guard and point guard. I’ve been searching and watching college ball and at my height I should be playing shooting guard, so this year I am guaranteed to play all positions.

    I am a very powerful, influential and coach-able player, I carry great character on and off the court. Once I have goal set for myself I will accomplish it. I will never let myself or my team down.
