Brittan Richey '27 Recruiting Profile

I pride myself in being different from the masses. I know who i am and who I want to be, and often that means that I am different from others my age. I have a strong desire in my heart to be pure and an image of the woman God wants me to be, so I choose to show up every day in a mirror that images that and represents my family, team, and school respectfully. I approach academics, leadership roles, sports, volunteering opportunities, and relationships the same; with my full heart, attention, desire and respect.

I have been playing basketball since before I could tie my shoes. I have pressed myself to athletically achieve in other sports such as competitive cheer, track, and cross country, but none have captured my heart like basketball. I have set goals for myself in the sport and continuously adjust, recalculate and push to move the mark to what I once believed was unachievable. My long-term goal is to play college basketball. I love the game and everything that is a part of the sport. I love challenging myself to master new things through work, trial and perseverance. I am a good teammate, I am coachable, and I will work harder than anyone else on the court. I will work weekly pouring my heart and energy into making sure I achieve my athletic dreams.

I am very blessed to have parents who foster these goals and have set me up with the best training and opportunities to reach them. As a family, my ”hobby” has now become a way of life. I am grateful that God gave me an athletic nature and genetics to be an all-around athlete. I choose to use these things, combined with hard work, to meet and surpass the goals that I have made for myself on and off the court.
