Growing up and playing sports I was always the one that made the most points scored the most goals, or served the most aces. Being the most athletic player on whatever team I was a part of made playing those games easy. However, my freshman year I came face to face with the fact that just being athletic was not going to make me the best player on the team and being only 5’5” I had to figure out what would make me stand apart from my teammates. It was then I realized how important a good shooter was to a team. I started working with a trainer on my shot and by the time my junior year came around I lead my team in 3 point shooting.
The fight in me doesn’t just end on the basketball court. Although my parents, brother, and sisters each attended college none of them were able to obtain a degree. I want to become the first in my immediate family to accomplish that. I know with the support I have of my family and the will to succeed I know I will graduate from college with a degree in either Athletic Training or Elementary Education.
