Kailey Lacy '19 Recruiting Profile

This year my high school team finished our "Cinderella Season" as the Runner Up for our Region 6A conference.  I was also awarded 2nd Team All District.  These accomplishments are even more exciting for me because I have worked so hard to overcome the challenges of my Sophomore year on Varsity.  I mentally struggled that year going from leading the JV team as a Freshman to fighting for play time as a sophomore.  Now this year, I not only overcame those mental challenges I grew into a starter of a dynamic team.  I am now a team leader, motivator and when the team gets discouraged I love picking everyone up and pushing us to never give up and play at 150% until the final buzzer.  My coach says that the team’s energy level increases when I’m on the court.  My defensive aggression on the court has always made me stand out and now my focus is continued growth in offensive aggression. 

I am the oldest of 4 in my family, which taught me responsibility, how to work hard and to hold myself to high standards.  Basketball has been a passion of mine since I started youth league ball in 6th grade.  Outworking everyone else on the court has given me self-confidence and the ability to overcome my toughest obstacle, self doubt.  I am so proud to have had such an amazing season this year and to have been such a key player in those wins.    

My goal is to graduate with as many college credits as possible while maintaining a GPA of at least 3.5.  I want to attend a school with a solid basketball program where I can excel in sports and business management.
