Anita Knoll '20 Recruiting Profile

I have been playing basketball since I was a little girl.  All through junior high, all I could think about was practicing my game and making varsity my freshman year; I did not want to play on varsity because I had to, I wanted to play on there because I deserved it. I gave up every morning with my friends during JH to shoot free throws--practicing my shooting skills while everyone else went to talk and laugh in the cafeteria. In the end, my hard work payed off, and I was placed on varsity my freshmen year. Throughout my career on varsity, I have learned that I am fairly creative offensively and a team player. I do what is asked of me on and off the court and do not complain.

Playing basketball and wanting to be the best that I can be helped me in all the areas of my life. I work harder in academics knowing that there are consequences to having bad grades. I strive to keep my grades in the As. My goal is to earn a 4-year degree but at this time I am undecided on which field to pursue. I have learned that not everything comes easy and that I have to work for what I want. Living with a family who owns its own business, I have learned it takes teamwork to get the job done and be successful. I have learned that I cannot win by myself and that I have to be an example for the other girls. I have learned if I do not give it 100%, they will not either.
