Basketball has provided me the opportunity to go beyond my limits both mentally and physically. The game has humbled me and taught me that all great things involve hard work and sacrifice. I have persevered through some difficult times and discovered that I am capable of achieving my goals on and off the court.
I would describe myself as a combo guard. I am capable of doing a bit of everything for my team. While playing at Ogden High my Senior year I understood that it would be a difficult season with a young group of players. My leadership on and off the court evolved this season. I am not a selfish player and am committed to helping my team and using my skills, vision of the court, and defense to lift my team as a whole. My Senior season couldn’t be about me and getting highlights. It was about being an example for my younger teammates and being mentally tough no matter the outcome.
I don’t believe I have came close to what my full potential is on the court. I have spent the last few years playing down in a way to support my high school team. If you are looking for an impact player, I fit that description. My defense is strong. I have size and speed and am capable of getting the ball down the court quickly. I love to shoot and drive from the left hand side and use both hands equally. I look to create opportunities for my teammates and my passing ability allows that to happen frequently.
My goals are to play college basketball and further my education in medical field. I have maintained a 3.7 GPA while taking AP, Honors, and CE medical courses related to my career of interest. My aim is to find a college basketball program that is focused on growth, accountability, and cohesiveness.
