Kelsey Poyner '24 Recruiting Profile

I am driven and hardworking, and a natural leader on and off the floor. I have aspired to be a collegiate athlete since I first stepped foot on a varsity floor in eighth grade, and ever since then I have grown my game, pushed my limits, and learned from those better than me in order to improve. I am a proficient three point shooter with a 37% average, and I am an excellent ball handler. I am a playmaker, when a play breaks down I am skilled at creating open looks for my teammates and myself. I am also heavily competitive, I will do whatever it takes to win. On top of basketball, I value academics. Currently I am on track to graduate with my associates degree through Running Start, while maintaining a 3.92 GPA. On top of that, my experience with being a lifeguard and a student leader has taught me multiple skills heavily applicable to basketball, such as responsibility, accountability, and teamwork.
