All sports have dramatically influenced my character and my view on life, but specifically, basketball. I have always been a shy type, yet going to basketball camps throughout the summer forced me to open up and become more comfortable and confident with talking to new people and making new friends. Ever since I was little I remember loving to watch my older siblings play basketball. Once I became old enough to play as a fourth grader, I have loved the sport ever since. Through all sports I have learned to be a leader on and off the court; to help other up and encourage them to try again. As a young leader on my high school team I have learned to be confident in myself and my teammates, keep my emotions under control, and work hard to grow.
I have been attending Running Start through Spokane Community college along with being dually enrolled in pre-calculus through college in the classroom at my high school. I plan to receive my Associate in Arts degree and my high school diploma at the end of my senior year. Furthermore, I am currently interested in becoming a dietitian afterwards. During my sophomore year I got mononucleosis two games into the basketball season. I was completely devastated that I could not play my favorite sport during a projected successful year for my team. After I overcame my illness, I tried out for my summer basketball team and have been playing as hard as I can ever since. With my height, I am able to play all around on the court wherever I am needed. My passion for the sport along with being greatly coachable and loving hard work allows me to succeed in my favorite sport.
