I have several goals for the college level. My academic aspiration is to create genuine relationships with my professors to learn as much as possible so that I can be successful and have a competitive edge in the medical field. My goal for athletics is to make a significant contribution to the team I join by always looking to improve myself and others, leading and building up my teammates, and using failure to my advantage. My personal goal for college is to make a positive impact on my surroundings in every action I take.
What sets me apart from other recruits is my work ethic, leadership, and people skills. Basketball has shown me the importance of a strong work ethic. I realized that oftentimes a team working together with a positive attitude is more successful than a team that relies on individual talent alone. A positive work ethic consists of five factors; a sense of responsibility, discipline, focus on quality, integrity, and teamwork. These are five factors that I apply both to basketball and life. Another skill that sets me apart is my leadership. I lead with confidence which allows my peers to place their trust in me. The best players have confidence in their game, which comes from the preparation and time spent training when no is watching. Since I understand that confidence comes from work and no one can strip it from me, I have become a great leader that is comfortable in any position. Finally, I stand apart because of my people skills. In today's world, it is easy to be consumed by technology and social media. I strongly believe that real-life connections are so much more valuable. I am an approachable, compassionate, and understanding person. I do everything I can to make a positive impact on the world around me. I hope to form a strong sense of camaraderie on my college team.
