Personal Statement
One my biggest strengths is how motivated I am for success. I push myself to be the best possible, especially when it comes to basketball and academics. Whether it's waking up at 5am to go to the gym or going to shoot between school and practice, I am willing to put in the extra work. Basketball has been a huge part of my life since Kindergarten. I have been a multi sport athlete, but basketball has always been my passion.
I have been having an amazing senior year. My coach calls me the calming presence on the team when it's needed. I know that getting frustrated and panicking leads to mistakes and I try to keep the team focused and grounded. Rather than get rattled, I help bring the energy and focus on strong foundational skills. I'm frequently told I have an excellent basketball IQ, which I attribute to 13 years of playing and watching hours and hours of film. Due to the needs of the team this year I have had to be flexible and change up my position when the coach asks. I have always been a guard, but have been playing post for some games. This was uncomfortable at first, but has taught me to be versatile and flexible.
