Personal Statement

I am Timeah Z. Stotts currently enrolled as a junior attending Milwaukee School of Languages expected graduating year 2016.  I have been studying French as a second language since I was five years old, and some would say I am fluent in the language.  On a 4.0 point scale I average a 3.84 all while taking advanced placement courses and rank 14 in a graduating class of 141.  I am also delighted to be given recognition by the National Honors Society for my accomplishments as a student.  Although, I haven’t taken the ACT or SAT testing I plan to do so in the near future.  I’m working very hard to prepare for college and I have faith it will pay off in the end.

My career as a basketball player began only after I spent ages six through ten as a gymnast.  Looking for something more challenging at age ten and a six-grade student at Milwaukee school of languages I developed a love for the sport of basketball. Playing as a starter point guard on the eighth grade team it became my passion.  After eighth grade graduation came and went my high school career began at age 13 and it has been a wonderful journey thus far.  I have been a starter on my high school varsity basketball team as a point guard since my freshman year helping to lead our girl’s team to an undefeated season.  My basketball IQ is solid, but there is always room for improvements.  I am extremely comfortable with my ball handling capabilities, and the fact I have great court vision making it easy for me to locate and see a play for my teammates.  Defensively, and offensively I am stable however I’m always looking for ways to improve my skills.  For two consecutive years I have had the pleasure of being named first team all conference in the Milwaukee City Gold Division.

I’d like to consider myself to be disciplined, hardworking, and ambitious these qualities help to improve my skills as a point guard on the court.  I have also learned that welcoming constructive criticism can be a wonderful attribution to life as a student athlete it helps with my ambition on and off the court to see all things are indeed possible.  Dedication, and compassion to my teammates, family, and myself is what I have, and I would like to share it with you by becoming part of your women’s basketball program as a true point guard.

I’d also like to mention I’m a starting point guard with Wisconsin playground elite an AAU club team.  I’ve been playing club ball since eighth grade, and must say it’s been an wonderful experience to developping my skills.

I have hopes that you are able to see that sports are a part of me, and I would like to become part of your women’s basketball program at the collegiate level.

Thank You,

Timeah Z. Stotts
