Personal Statement
Since I was little, I have known that playing college basketball was a goal that would drive me. Once I started playing organized basketball, it became clear to me that my hard work, dedication, passion, and perseverance would become solid personal traits. At 5'6 and 130 pounds, I make my speed and agility a primary weapon for my varsity and AAU teams. I have been a varsity starter since my sophomore year and have played both the shooting guard and point guard positions. I have been named to the Mississippi Valley Conference 2nd Team for both my sophomore and junior years and this past season I was named to the LaCrosse Tribune All-Area Honorable Mention and the KQEG TV's Top 23 Player of the Game. I've been lucky to play in big venue tournaments in Chicago, Indianapolis, and the Twin Cities with my AAU Club team and have played on the premiere AAU club in Wisconsin: Team Wisconsin. I am constantly spending extra time before practice, after practice, and during the off-season to improve my skills. My teammates look to me for leadership, motivation, and encouragement both on and off the court. Although I am looking primarily for schools that offer pre-medicine and/or psychology that will help me in my desire to be a Psychiatrist, I am open to a school in any region and of any size that will push me academically and athletically to be the best I can. I am a hard worker, coachable, and determined to improve my skills to play at the highest level possible, help my team play at a higher level, and make a positive impact on that team and my campus.
