My name is Addeysen, but most of my coaches and teammates know me as Lugo. After spending 12 years as a competitive gymnast, I transitioned to diving in April 2024—and it has been one of the most rewarding decisions I’ve made. My gymnastics background taught me the importance of body control, precision, and mental toughness, all of which have translated seamlessly into diving.
What I love most about diving is not just the thrill of the sport, but the team camaraderie that comes with being part of the dive and swim community. While gymnastics is often an individual journey, diving has introduced me to a team environment that pushes me to grow both as an athlete and a person.
This sport also brings me closer to my roots—my father was a competitive diver and swimmer, and diving has become a meaningful way for us to connect and share a passion across generations.
I’m excited to continue developing as a diver with the goal of competing at the collegiate level, while also pursuing a degree in the medical field. I’m driven, disciplined, and ready to put in the work to achieve both my athletic and academic goals.
