Personal Statement

I am a determined golfer and student. I’ve always been determined to excel in everything I do, by putting my best effort forward. I optimize and change the way I work so I can work with my weaknesses, rather than against them. I  play on the Cactus Shadows High School Varsity Girls Golf Team Top 4 position. I have been training in golf since the age of 8. At first, I was playing for fun, but it has turned into a serious passion of mine. It’s become an essential part of me. The skills I gained from playing this game are a sense of focus, patience and concentration, which is one of the main reasons I love golf. Another thing I learnt was temperament control on the golf course, which applies throughout my life. When I am feeling stressed, upset, or overwhelmed, the first place I go to is the golf course. The more I understood the game, the more I understood how to read an environment and adapt to different conditions on a day-to-day basis.  Recently, my coach and I have worked tirelessly to improve my mental and physical game. The mental aspect of tournament golf has been a struggle recently, but I am actively working to improve my mindset and outlook on the game. It hasn’t been easy, putting many long and hard hours into making myself a better golfer. My handicap has dropped to 4.9 in 2024.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
