Hello!
My name is Sagarika Manian, I'm from Santa Barbara, CA, I’m 16 and I'm a junior. I will be graduating from Dos Pueblos High School in June 2025.
I'm on the Varsity Girls Golf team at Dos Pueblos High School and have led my team to win the Channel League Championship for the last two years. I also won the Channel League Individual Championship for the past three years making me earn MVP honors. I was awarded with Athlete of the Week and Athlete of the Year for high school girls golf by the Santa Barbara Athletic Round Table because of these accomplishments. I am also the youngest winner of Athlete of the Year for girl’s golf. My highlight last year was that I was able to bring my 9 hole scoring average down to a few strokes and my ability to perform under pressure had increased. My goal for this year is to bring down my 18 hole score average to the lower 70s range. During this season, I have been able to break my personal best score for 9 holes 3 times, including shooting a score of 3 under par twice. I even qualified to CIF-SS Individual Regionals/SCGA qualifiers and was considered as the top 1% of Southern California girls golfers. I also had a once in a lifetime opportunity to compete in the TGR Jr Invitational Presented by TaylorMade where I was selected out of more than 600 applicants to compete in this tournament which was hosted by Tiger Woods.
I've been playing golf for 8 years and I really love the sport. I currently have a scoring average of the low 80s for 18 hole tournaments and I have begun to average in the 30s for 9 hole tournaments. I have even started to shoot in the 70s for 18 hole tournaments as well. Recently, I've been working a lot more on my putting and short game which I believe has helped.
