Dear Coach,
I have came a long way to be here to play golf, I am currently a Junior at Tesoro High School in Southern California. I left home at 12 to live in a golf boarding camp for 2 years in Taiwan. Decided to move to U.S. to prepare my collegiate golf route in 8th grade, tried out in 9th grade for varsity and scored a 37 for nine hole and a gold medalist for school. 10th grade I was the most improved player for my team and 11th grade I shot a hole in one during school match and broke Tesoro's record for the first hole in one ever.
At first, I had problem with school and learning in English, but in three years, I made National Honors Society with 3.9/4.0 GPA by taking Honors and AP classes. I also volunteer at food bank, local library, and coaching neighborhood kids to play golf in my spare time. Furthermore, I have been taking French since sophomore for 2 years already and I am the teacher's appointed French tutor to help out classmates. Not only I overcame English and fitting in to U.S., I believe that I have the confidence to achieve anything that I put my heart into.
I am the captain of my team now, this year I will put full gear to improve my game so I can be in the 75 range. My goal is to play competitive collegiate golf for 4 years and grow with my team into life long friends. My lowest score ever is 73 at Coto de Caza CC (par 72, 5868 yards), my best tournament score was 75 at Arrowood GC (par 71, 5860 yard). With the help of my swing and mentor coaches, I believe that I can reduce strokes by working on my short games.
I enjoy what I do, I did ballet and swimming in early childhood so I have great flexibility to endure golf, I also workout on a regular basis to strengthen myself. I play guitar, sing, rap, dance hip hop, I can compose my own music, these interests help me to stay focus when I am down. I am smart, hardworking , workable, sociable, and very passionate about life, if you pick me, this will be the best decision any coach can ever make for the team.
I have came a long way to play college golf, and I am determined to work as hard as I can to achieve that goal. If you like to know more about my game, please follow me on Jr Golf Hub so you will see my progress throughout the year as I do plan to play more competitive tournaments. Thank you for your time, hope to see you soon.
