I began playing golf when I was 7, and I wish I could say it was always a positive experience-that I was always climbing upwards. Yet, we all know that couldn’t have been the case. Ever since I was young, I’ve been competitive. As a child I had to fight through finding a balance between achieving what I wanted, while having fun and enjoying the game. Finding that balance of fun and achievement is one of the biggest struggles I’ve had, and something I’m still trying to improve to this day. Because of my past I would say I am a hard working athlete that strives to do better every day, not because of the physical reward at the end, or all of the verbal compliments, but because of self pride I can earn. I practice on the daily to improve my weaknesses, and I’ve had to adapt to ensure the joy of the game never fades away too far from my grasp. One of my favorite mottos would have to be “fall down seven times, stand up eight.”
