Personal Statement
I want to major in Political Science and try my game at the professional level. I would love a career with the Foreign Service as I am half Chinese. Being on time is very important to me. Having a set routine makes me a great golfer and playing the same equipment all the time helps me maintain consistent play. I have embraced my golf club coach's philosophy of being teachable and learning all the shots. I practice every day and workout daily also. I visit my strength and conditioning coach twice a month and keep adding exercises to my routine. I am even tempered and always remember the most important shot is the one that I am playing right now. I have scored 72 twice in tournament play on The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour. Shot 74 as well and 77 and 76 from 6035 yards against the 13 to 14 year old boys in Alabama on the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour in in January of 2015. I believe in working hard and putting in the necessary time to become the best golfer that I can be. I love golf and enjoy being on the course. I am in no hurry to leave after practice and always am one of the first people to arrive. I have a supportive team around me working and helping me reach my goals. I update my goals at least twice a year, and I am constantly updating and creating new goals. I have short term goals to help me reach my long term goals. I am a team player and support my school and fellow players. I have a great build for golf, lots of power, and swing speed. I have had my share of bad holes and higher than average rounds. I keep smiling and just play my next shot. My parents taught me to never get to high when I birdie or eagle and never get down when I bogey or worse. My favorite Stat is the bounce back which shows that I never give up on my round. I want to play professional golf, and I have never been a cheater or a stroke shaver. I record all my shots no matter how much my score rises, and I do not W/D from tournaments. I am not a quitter. I have balanced my school and golf. Although swing changes are never easy, I have never steered away from the opportunity to attempt the required shot during a round even as I am learning how to execute that shot. I have courage, and I am not afraid to fail publicly. Greatness is achievesdby much practice and sadly lots of failure. I have totally lost my swing and rebuilt it all in the same season.
