Annaliese Jackson '20 Recruiting Profile

I have only been playing golf for about three years and, at first, I wasn't sure I would like it. My dad thought that I might like golf when I was in middle school, so he bought me a beginners' set of clubs.  At first, I hit every once in awhile at the driving range by my house. When I got to high school, my mom talked to the golf coach and told her i could play. I did not think I was going to love golf as much as I do now. I struggled a lot my first year because I was still using a beginners' set of clubs, and  didn't really know how to play, but since I showed genuine interest in the game, my family bought some better clubs. During my sophomore year, I practiced as hard as I could to get better. I was at the golf course almost every Sunday afternoon improving my game. At our region tournament, I shot a 98. During the awards ceremony, my team and I learned that I had landed an individual spot at the State Golf Tournament. The entire team was stunned because no one else from my school has made it to State Golf in ten years.

Being on the Northside high school golf team is one of the best things that has ever happened to me. I have learned how to improve my game through practice, how to ask for help, and how to work as a team while also being an individual. I have made so many meaningful friendships and connections that would not have happened without stepping out of my comfort zone and joining the golf team at Northside.

I'm looking for a college that will not only help me reach my academic goals, but allow me to pursue my passion for golf.
