I have been competing in competitive golf tournaments for the last three years (2014-2017). This has included the Gateway Junior PGA, AJGA events, JGS events and high school play. For the last two years, one of my favorite tournaments was the Country Youth Classic played in Bloomington, Illinois.
I have worked my freshman, sophomore and junior high school career with Coach Carey Cappel. My off-season golf coach is PGA professional Kyle Williams.
I currently play five days a week hitting range balls, playing practice rounds, and working on chipping and putting. I am also employed at Rolling Hills Golf Course.
My most impressive golf accomplishments up to this point include:
My high school golf team qualified for the Illinois High School Association state golf tournament my freshman year with me playing the number 5 spot out of six players.
I carded my first hole-in-one on August 7, 2015 on a 97 yard par 3 using a pitching wedge.
My sophomore and junior years, I qualified for the Illinois High School Association sectional tournament barely missing state qualification.
I was invited to play in the “Indiana Elite North vs. South” tournament in the fall of 2016, qualifying for the final round. 36 out of 162 golfers qualify for final round.
I hit my longest drive of my golf career in the summer of 2016, hitting the ball 297 yards.
I expect to graduate from Alton High School in the spring of 2018. Currently, my cumulative weighted GPA is 4.320 and I am ranked 14 out of 490 students. I anticipate to take the ACT and SAT in my junior year. The subjects that I’m currently considering for college include analytical chemistry, music, physics, and veterinary science. My most impressive academic accomplishments include maintaining a high GPA and class rank while being involved in various extracurricular activities.
