Hi, I am Emma Rattana! I am a junior at Willowbrook High School. When I was seven, I picked up a golf club for the first time and fell in love with the sport. What started as a hobby, grew into so much more. I continue to strive on improving not only the physical aspects of the sport, but the mental side as well.
I started my high school career off strong freshman year. Right out of the gate I was named the number one golfer on our team and was expected to deliver. I was the first freshman golfer ever to reach the state level at Willowbrook. Even though I shot a 100 on the first day and was cut, it was an amazing experience that I hoped I could learn from and come back stronger.
Sophomore year I had some unfinished business post-season. With such a strong showing the previous season, expectations for me were high. The pressure I felt was overwhelming at times, however it was all worth it when Regionals came around. I shot an 82 at Glendale Lakes Golf Course, and placed 6th that day. Unfortunatley I was a few strokes short of qualifying for State that year, and I plan on making my return my Junior year.
In the classroom, I work extremely hard on maintating a cumulative 4.3 GPA. I have my heart set on attending Medical School with hopes of becoming a Pediatrician. I am a current member of NHS, and hoping to run for secretary for the Student Council in the fall.
I am excited to continue my academic career in college, and am hopeful that I can also find a golf program that is the right fit for me!
