Macie Myers '18 Recruiting Profile

My goal is to play golf at the college level and to be part of a team.  I have had gained experience throughout my life playing golf.  I began playing golf when I was three years old and starting competing in tournaments when I was eight. I have had opportunities to participate in a PGA Jr. Camp at TPC Summerlin, in Las Vegas, NV and an IJGA Camp in South Carolina.  The IJGA Camp opportunity was awarded to me through my involvement with The First Tee of Manhattan, KS.  I have had experience helping with The First Tee by volunteering my time to assist in coaching and mentoring the younger children in the program, as well as helping to assist with the summer Junior Golf Program at the Wamego Country Club in Wamego, Kansas.  In the summer of 2016 I attended the Oklahoma State Golf Camp.

I compete in tournaments in the spring, summer, and fall, and work to improve my game year round. My sophomore year I was chosen as the team captain for my high school team, by my peers.  I have had a solid career so far and continue to work to improve my game.  I love competing and striving to get better.  I strive to reach my goals as a player and a as student.  In the past two years of High School golf I have placed 5th and 3rd in the Kansas 6A State Tournament and been named 1st Team 6A All State and 1st Team all Centennial League.  The summer of 2016 one of my achievements was winning the Kansas Jr. Golf Association Section Team Championship.  

I feel that all the years of different experiences golfing experiences have allowed me to be very coachable and easy to work with.  I have learned a lot about myself through the game and will continue to do so through my golf career. 

I am looking for a school that will help me strive to grow as a better player, be apart of a team and family atmosphere,  and be able to recieve a great education.
