When I was five years old my Dad brought my brother and I to Green Harbor Golf Course in Marshfield, Massachusetts. This is where I first learned to play golf, had my first golf lesson, and won my first four ball tournament. I have learned many things about myself playing golf. I would not be who I am today if it were not for the game of golf. It has taught me patience, perseverance, persistence, independence, and confidence. I am highly motivated and extremely competitive as well as very optimistic. I am always striving to do better, setting goals for myself both in the classroom and on the golf course. I make sure to do everything in my power to achieve my goals.
I am currently a Junior at Marshfield High School. MHS does not have a girls golf team and I am the only girl on the MHS Boys Golf Team since my Freshman year. I am very dedicated and respected by my teammates. I am a true leader and I enjoy every aspect of being apart of a team. I was elected captain of my team this year. This past fall (2015) I received the honor of being named a 2015 ACL All Star. This past summer I played in the New England PGA Junior Tour and I earned the title of Payer of the Year. I also qualified for Girls Massachusetts State Tournament the past two years finishing sixth my sophomore year with a score of 81. This past year I was named 2015 The Boston Globe All Scholastic as well as The Patriot Ledger All Scholastic.
As a student I hope to major in Business Management. I am an active member in the DECA program at my school which is a business club that competes in district, state, and national competitions. I also Irish Step Dance for the Haley School of Irish Dance year round, in which I have competed at regional, national and world competitions all over the world.
I appreciate you taking the time to read my personal statement, and good luck in the upcoming golf season.
