February 2017I have been golfing for over 6 years and the last two were in successful girls golf seasons for my high school. During the last two years, I learned the importance of teamwork, leadership, and time management. I’m looking for a program that will be a good fit for me academically and athletically. I believe I have the work ethic, leadership skills, and talent to have an impact on your program. Growing up as a two sport athlete and team leader, I know I have what it takes to be a strong member on your team.
I believe I grew most as a student and athlete my sophomore golf season (2016) when I was named JV Team Captain after placing 6th overall in my 2015 County Championship meet. Being on JV my sophomore year helped me learn the importance of teamwork and leadership. As Team Captain I always made sure my team was in good shape mentally and physically -- by making sure they were prepared for every match. We all worked really hard on our physical and mental golf game; I worked with our coach to organize our practices by breaking down specific areas of our game and letting those with strengths in a specific area help those with weaknesses. This focus on teamwork helped us to win 18 out of 20 matches and as a team finished 3rd out of 15 in the 2016 High School League Championship Tournament.
