Golf has become a passion in my life and it is my desire to continue playing competitive golf as I pursue my college education.
In the past three years, golf has made me realize what hard work is all about. I lead the team for three years to win the NIAA Division III State Championship and two years out of which I won the NIAA Division III Individual championship. Additionally I was voted MIP my freshman year and MVP my last three years.
I’m a bit late to golf, thus my resume is light, nonetheless my golf IQ and ability are changing and growing at an exponential rate because of my consistent work and determination. As a result my game is improving dramatically, as a whole. I am learning everything from course management, to green reading through on course simulation training and tournament play. The majority of my competitive golf so far, has been played in Northern Nevada, but I am confident given the opportunity to play in a more competitive atmosphere, I will perform at an even higher level.
I have been enrolled in honors and AP classes throughout my high school career and have maintained a high GPA. I have also volunteered as a Hebrew teacher to Kindergarten through 6th grade students. In November of 2010 I was honored to receive an Outstanding Citizenship award from the NT Fire Dept. I was the first responder to an unconscious young woman and used my CPR training while waiting for the EMT’s to arrive.
I am looking for a college that will advance my golf game and provide a quality education.
Sincerely,
Devi Meyers, Women’s Golf, October 19, 2014
