My name is Jocelyn Wintersteen, and my collegiate goals are to exceed expectations and to push myself both on the golf course and off. I take immense pride in my work and am committed to excellence, both on the golf course and in the classroom. I am not someone who settles for the bare minimum; I consistently challenge myself to grow and improve.
Competing on a college-level women’s golf team will be a vital step in my development as an athlete. I am fully committed to putting in the necessary training—whether it’s in the gym, on a simulator, or out on the course—focusing especially on areas of my game that need refinement to lower my scores. I also understand that mental strength is just as important as physical ability. I pay attention to how I eat, especially the night before a tournament and I focus on trying to keep a strong, positive mentality throughout tournaments and practices.
What sets me apart from other recruits is my ability to succeed both academically and athletically. Even during late tournaments or travel, I maintain a strong academic record because I manage my time well and stay organized. My drive extends beyond personal success—I’m passionate about supporting others who are equally committed. As an upperclassman, I hope to be a role model and mentor to younger teammates, helping to foster a culture of hard work, discipline, and mutual respect.
I am confident that my dedication, resilience, and leadership potential make me a strong candidate for your team. I am ready to take my game—and my education—as far as I possibly can!
