Golfer Profile
My name is Victoria Paliseno and I am a Sophomore @ Notre Dame Academy High School located on Grymes Hill, Staten Island, NY. Like so many other amateur golfers, my golf journey began during the COVID-19 lockdown with indoor (swing) lessons at local simulator facilities. In addition, I participated in several junior PGA OP 36 training sessions, spring and summer camps, and I commenced my on-course playing experience in 2024.
As a freshman, I finished the season as the #5 golfer on the Varsity Woman's golf team that won the CHSAA NY City Championship team. During the summer, I competed in several USGA Kids events (tournaments) and was the Central Jersey Summer tour Champion (Girls 15-18 flight). Being new to the game, I am extremely proud of the fact that I have been able to reduce my HCP to 27 and (even) broke 100 (for the first time) last summer. I look forward to building on this progress during my High School season (Sophomore year) and my 2025 individual tournament competitions.
Personal Profile
Golf is the main sport / hobby that has "stuck" with me during my life. When I am practicing golf, my passion and ''drive'' shine brightly. Practicing and playing golf is one (of the many) drivers that provide me with a wave of ambition and ideas of how I want to pursue my life and career.
Along with my pursuit of golf, my ideal area of study and / or occupation (that I would love to pursue) will be in the field of psychology. When I think of my future, I know that I want to help others. Whether it be children or adults, helping people gives me joy and completeness. Even now, I gain joy from watching people (especially my NDA teammates) thrive. I want to help people grow, even if the process isn't linear.
Similar to golf, growth in one's self takes persistence, reflection, and resilience.
In my future career, my hope (and goal) is to be someone's helper. I would like to provide others with the tools, the resources, and the words that tell them that you have a chance to grow---- no matter the struggles you face.
In the game of life, just like golf, it's important to take it one swing at a time.
