I earned a spot on the high school girls golf team my freshman year and competed in every varsity match as the third ranked player on the team. I missed the cut by one point for regionals, but did break into the 80s on my very last league match with a score of 86.
As a sophomore, I managed to score consistently in the low 90s and PR'd once again with an 84 towards the end of the season. That year, I made it to regionals and eventually to state as an individual tying for 55th.
This past season as a junior, I was nominated as the Team Captain and the first ranked player on the team. I posted a 79 in league matches and qualified for state with a score of 77 at regionals. At state, I jumped 21 spots from the previous year to tie for 34th.
During the winter months of my junior year, I also participated in my high school's varsity racquetball team. At state, I finished 2nd in singles for the 6th division and 3rd in doubles for the 2nd division. As a part of the girl's team, we finished 2nd. At nationals in St. Louis, Missouri, our team finished 5th overall.
As for Oregon Junior Golf tournaments, I won three of the six major tournaments (2-day) and PR'd with a low tournament score of 76 over this summer. I aim to continuously improve my game (both mentally and physically). I participate in strength training and play racquetball during the winter months to maintain balance and stamina.
It would be such an honor to represent a university and play golf at the collegiate level. I am firmly committed to excel in the classroom while focusing on contributing to the overall success of the golf program.
