My name is Olivia Kury and I am a Junior attending York Catholic High School. I started playing golf at the age of 7 and have fond memories of playing with my Mom in her golf league. At the age of 9, I played in my first York County Junior Golf Tournament. After that first tournament I was hooked. I had fallen in love with the game and the thrill of competition. I started taking lessons and working with a swing coach. I have made great strides in building a strong swing and becoming confident in my ability. I aspire to play golf at the collegiate level. As captain of my high school golf team, I try to lead by example and inspire my teammates. I believe that success in golf, is not achieved overnight, but rather through consistent dedication and a willingness to push beyond my comfort zone.
I work hard in school to maintain a 3.8 GPA. I am a member of the National Honor Society and Student Ambassadors. I strive for excellence in everything I do. I take pride in my work ethic and I am committed to constantly improving on the golf course and in the classroom.
My dream is to play college golf. I want to be an integral part of a competitive team. It is important to me that I not only love the golf team, but also the College and environment. I want to be able to grow as a player and teammate. I strongly believe that I will be a great addition to a college golf team. I will work hard everyday at perfecting my skills and learning new techniques.
