Dear Coaches,
I am dedicated and determined to reach my goal of becoming a top collegiate golfer at the school of my dreams. I would be a good candidate for a collegiate team because I have good social and leadership skills that help me get along well with others. Being from the Northeast, I don't have the privilege of playing year round in a warmer climate. However, I make sure that doesn't stop me. I find a way to practice no matter what it takes. I practice either indoors or at heated hitting bays and train at a gym once it gets dark. Living in the Northeast might seem like a "disadvantage", but I see it as a opportunity to be prepared for any type of condition thrown at me on the golf course on any given day.
I have played team sports such as basketball and softball which I stopped playing once I found golf. Starting golf at age 12, I find that I have to work twice as hard as my competitors, some who started playing as young as six, to get to where I currently am. This set back has instilled in me determination, focus, and a positive attitude. I may not have raw talent, but I am always learning and will never give up. Two quotes that sum up my feelings of reaching my goals are "Hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard" and "Winners never quit and quitters never win; I choose to be a winner!"
Sincerely,
Alexis
