Alysha Semien '20 Recruiting Profile

Growing up in a household with two parents, 6 years ago my dad deceased at age 34 with congestive heart failure. I am a first-generation student aspiring to be an accountant and eventually become a CEO of my own business. I try to be the best I can in anything that I do including sports, but it seems as if I am a natural. I have a keen sense of understanding when accepting new challenges and I tend to overcome them with poise. I'm an enthusiastic, smart, high-spirited, and dedicated person who enjoys golf not just the fun of it but also for the peace that the sport gives me. My mom had this thing where she at least wanted me to try every sport at least once and who would’ve known golf was my forte. I have been playing since my Sophomore year and I am ecstatic to play on the collegiate level. I started my sophomore year off on JV and placed 8th out of 75 other players at my first tournament. The next two tournaments, I came in 1^st and 2^nd place. Since then I have lettered in Varsity Golf for 3 years, on placing in many more tournaments.
