Personal Statement

I started playing competitive golf around 3 years ago, beginning to compete in local NTPGA Medalist tournaments. Since then, I began gradually playing larger tournaments and my proudest golf achievement is placing 7th All-State in my freshman year State Championship alongside my Hockaday varsity golf team.  In the future, I hope to play more national events and qualifiers to broaden the competition.

I place a lot of value on my academics also, so I  am challenging myself with AP Calculus AB, AP US History, AP Biology, and Chinese in my junior year. I am also very involved in community service at my school and am a part of multiple programs. My favorite of these is Reading Partners, in which I visit public schools around my area twice a week during my lunch period to tutor children who are under-resourced. I have been a part of this program for two years now and I love seeing the impact that I can have on a child's reading skills after just a year of tutoring.

In college, I hope to continue playing golf at a competitive level and further my academics significantly, while also continuing to help the community in many different ways.

  • TJGT Prestonwood Hills Classic
  • 7/27/20 to 7/28/20
  • 79 - 82 --- 5,770 --- 74.8/145 ---- I was able to score pretty well, despite swing issues on the second day and fought to get a lot of up and downs as I was missing a fair amount of greens both days.
  • Camp/Event
  • AJGA Jordan Spieth Qualifier
  • 7/19/20 to 7/19/20
  • Camp/Event
  • AAT: LPGA Tour Exemption Girls Series #5
  • 7/15/20 to 7/16/20
  • 75 - 75 --- 6,048 --- 72.6/139 --- placed 4th in Girls 13-18 division and earned my invitation to the NTPGA Girls Series Championship. Overall, it felt good to have two solid scores back to back, especially after my score of the tournament in the week before.
  • Camp/Event
  • TJGT Mansfield Classic
  • 7/08/20 to 7/09/20
  • 76 - 83 --- 5,692 ---- 72.7/131 --- The low score of the first day managed to get into my mental game on the second day, but it taught me how to deal with that type of pressure for the first time and paid off in my next tournament.

  • AJGA KJ Choi Qualifier
  • 7/06/20 to 7/06/20
  • Camp/Event
  • AAT: LPGA Tour Exemption Girls Series #3

  • 79 - 78 -- 5,819 -- 74.2/132 I struggled a little bit with windy conditions on the first day, but was able to save myself with 26 putts and up and downs to make up for my lack of greens hit. On the second day, I hit more greens, yet I allowed excessive heat conditions to weaken my mental game.
  • Camp/Event
  • AAT: LPGA Tour Exemption Girls Series #1
  • 6/17/20 to 6/18/20
  • 85-82 -- 5,627 yards -- 72.6 Rating
  • Camp/Event
  • TJGT Tangle Ridge Summer Blast
  • 6/10/20 to 6/11/20
  • Camp/Event
  • Jim Osborne Invitational
  • 3/02/20 to 3/02/20
  • 78 --- 5,448 --- 67.1/115 --- With a T1 finish out of 40 players, this was a pretty good day for me. I hit the flagstick on my putt on the last hole, unfortunately taking a bogey instead of a par which would have dropped my score to 77.
  • Camp/Event
  • Jesuit Invitiational
  • 2/24/20 to 2/24/20
  • 80 --- 4,790 --- 68.9/114 --- The wind was blowing up to 30 mph the whole day long, so I was satisfied with my score and 6th place finish because I had to make a lot of spontaneous changes to my shots. My team also placed second which is unusual for us at this annual tournament.
  • Camp/Event
  • AAT Holiday Classic
  • 12/07/19 to 12/08/19
  • 78 - 82 --- 6,060 --- 76.2/117 --- With 25-30 mph winds on the second day of play, my score suffered a little bit. Overall, I was satisfied with a T7 finish considering the conditions.
  • Camp/Event
  • AAT WellVia October Open
  • 10/05/19 to 10/06/19
  • 78 - 78 --- 5,868 --- 74.2/123 --- This tournament helped me build a lot of confidence because it was the first time that I shot two 78's consecutively.
  • Camp/Event
  • AAT Old American Open
  • 7/29/19 to 7/30/19
  • 80 - 78 --- 5780 --- 75.5/138 --- I was happy with my 6th place to finish at this tournament because the course played long and it was extremely humid. I was also hoping to break 80 on my second day and I did.
  • Camp/Event
  • TJGT Flower Mound Classic
  • 7/17/19 to 7/18/19
  • 81 - 79 --- 5,806 --- 73.6/127 --- With a T12 finish out of 84, this tournament really kicked off my 2019 summer. I was not extremely satisfied, but the 79 gave me hope for the rest of my summer season.
  • Camp/Event
  • SPC Championship
  • 4/29/19 to 4/30/19
  • 78 - 81 --- 5,066 --- 68.1/116 --- This was my first high school state championship, so I was very nervous but I came in 7th places. I also remember shooting the front 9 even par on my first day, which was a great achievement for me.
