Golf has been important to my family for generations. My great-great-grandfather designed a golf course in upstate New York, which was later purchased by my great-grandfather. To this day, that golf course is still owned and operated by my grandfather. As a result, my dad grew up around golf and has since passed a love for the game along to me. As far back as I can remember, I have been playing golf, and my passion and love for the game has only continued to grow. Unlike most people, golf is not simply a hobby for me, it is part of who I am. When I am not playing or practicing myself, I work for the NTPGA, assisting with clinics where younger children are taught the fundamentals of the game. In doing this, my hope is to be able to instill my same passion for golf into the next generation of golfers.
In college, I hope to join a competitive program that challenges me and continues to allow me to grow, both as a golfer and as a person. My belief is that no matter how good you become, there is always room to get better. Therefore, my goal is to join a program that provides me an opportunity to continue to improve and unlock my full potential. At the same time, academics are very important to me, and I pride myself in maintaining excellent grades. I recognize that someday my competitive golfing career will come to an end, so attending a school that sets me on my future career path is very important to me as well. Until that time comes, however, I am determined to play competitively at the absolute highest level that I am able.
