My name is Peyton Marie Anderson. My dad is from Houston, Texas but was raised in Kerrville, Texas. I frequently visit Kerrville to see family and for tournaments. My mom is From El Salvador and moved to Fort Worth as a teenager.
I am an eager Texas high school golfer looking to find the right school to further expand my profession as a golfer and as a student. I am from Houston Texas. I currently attend Hightower HS in Missouri City, Texas.
As I am the ONLY student on our varsity golf team it has taught me great independence and leadership skills.
I have been playing golf for six years now. I do realize that playing at the collegiate level is a once in a lifetime opportunity. As a freshman, I played on the 2015 Varsity girls’ golf team.
I have a solid drive and a precise putting stroke on the green. I am very coach-able and I always strive to be the hardest working, enthusiastic, leader in the group.
In the classroom I work even harder when it comes to maintaining my grades. For me, my grades will always mean more to me than anything else. I have a 3.5 core GPA on a 4.0 scale. As I will be entering my sophomore year this August, I will be raising my GPA.
I am currently the lead junior mentor at The First Tee of Houston at FM Law Park. As a junior mentor I teach kids looking to pursue a career in golf about many different things such as the fundamentals of golf and the nine core values that we strive to follow at The First Tee which are: honesty, integrity, sportsmanship, respect, confidence, responsibility, perseverance, courtesy, and judgment. I go to the facility every Saturday and I mentor classes between 10:30am and 4:00pm.
I learned the fundamentals and basics of golf with Golf Pro, Matt Schewe, but I am now furthering my career with Skip Harris. My home course is Sienna Plantation Golf Club, but I spend most of my days practicing my short game at Clear Creek Golf club and my long game at The First Tee.
I would like to attend a college where I can really be motivated and push myself in the classroom, and on the course. I am definitely open to ALL options as I ultimately want to find the school where I can feel right at home.
