I have been playing golf for a couple months now. Through the small-time frame of playing, I have made a great amount of progress. I am easy to teach, which is valuable to both the coaches and through academic progress.
Golf has became a center in my life and I dedicate each day to playing. Whether it be playing a round, playing nine holes, going to the range, and film. The golf course has became my second home. I have not only valued growing as an athlete, but also the growth within my own Individual self. Through my growth as a person it has brought me to become closer to Christ. Through trusting my game more, I began trusting and having faith in what Christ has blessed me with athletically, which has lead me to a stronger relationship with Christ.
With golf, I have began forming goals to play collegiate level. I have the desire to get as high as I can (Division I or even going professional). To qualify for any event I can make, build lasting relationships with teammates while watching them succeed, and to be the best version of myself as a student-athlete.
As I have been golfing, I have developed collegiate skills with being a full-time Running Start student in the Running Start Program at Clark College in Vancouver, WA. Junior year I finished with a 3.6 GPA. Through this it has taught me to advocate for myself, to manage my time/schedule intently, patience, exposure to collegiate academics, communication, and the need to be mature as a student-athlete.
As I have been growing as a student and person, I’ve attained the academic goals to major in some sort of degree in ministries, religious studies, biblical studies, etc. I would prefer to attend a school that is Church of Christ/Christian.
This year I have begun working with a private golf coach (Michael Parker) at my local golf course, Tri-Mountain. He has worked with me on my swing, controlling my body, improving strength, putting, chipping, and conditioning.
